Wierd Spagetti

From: Better Homes and Gardens®, April 1979.
Prosciutto & Pasta
8 oz. Linguini or Fettucini
1 pkg. (10 ounces) frozen Asparagus
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup dairy Sour Cream
1/4 cup dry White Wine
1/4 cup Butter or margarine, melted
4 oz. thinly sliced Prosciutto (Parma ham), or very thinly sliced smoked ham, cut in 1-inch-wide strips.

Cook pasta in a large amount of boiling salted water about ten to twelve minutes or until tender.

Meanwhile cook asparagus according to package directions until crisp-tender; drain well.  Combine cheese, sour cream, wine, and butter or margarine; stir in asparagus and prosciutto.

Drain pasta well (DO NOT RINSE).  Transfer to warm serving platter; toss with sour cream mixture.  Garnish with additional parmesan, if desired.  Serve immediately.  Makes six servings.

The parmesan sauce "cooks" as you toss it with the hot pasta.
